CBT Day 2
Dear Students,
CBT of Saturday 6th May, 2023 (Day 2) ended better than Day 1. We did make some progress but long queues persisted. Some of you were very tired by the time it got to your turn. This Unit apologises for the inconveniences you are going through as we make this gradual transition. It might be challenging at first but it can only get better. You are part of the students that are witnessing the challenging beginnings as the university makes this important transition for your good ultimately.
The long queues are due partly to the server speed. The wonderful people at the ITMS are working to improve upon the server speed and the number of computers that are connected to the server. You do not need to struggle for space in front of a queue as it can be very discomforting. Every student who is registered for any 100 or 200 level GST course will sit for the CBT eventually. Moving forward, only students whose groups are sitting for the CBT should be in a queue. Students in the next group (according to the timetable) do not need to be in a queue but could hang around until the last batch of students in the preceding group have entered the CBT halls. Then you can queue up in an orderly manner.
It is possible to witness slow response when navigating the question pages. Server downtime may even be possible (as was the case on Day 1, but unlikely to happen again). If this happens, please remain calm on your seats as the IT experts will start work immediately to resolve the problem. If this distorts the time for the next group, do not panic or complain. Any group(s) who are unable to write that day, can definitely do so after the timetable schedule and see results the same as others. That is the beauty of CBT!
Dear students, you are the reason this Unit exists. You are the reason this Unit will remain committed to using technology to improve upon your examination experience in our great University. Hoping for a better Day 3 to Day 9.
